Jamie grew up in the San Fransisco Bay Area + studied Architecture at the University of Colorado at Boulder going on to receive a Bachelors of Environmental Design in architecture. This program instilled a lifelong interest in sustainable communities and spaces.

After graduating I took a big leap and went to Australia with a one-way ticket and a working holiday visa. She spent a year there, first living near the beach on the Gold Coast, working on my surfing skills then moving to Sydney to work at a kitchen + bath Showroom. Jamie honed her craft + began understanding materiality + detailing techniques while designing in a very modern Australian style for clients around Sydney. That design style with its light and airy, yet refined feel, still influences her designs today. After that year she traveled my way through Bali + Thailand and was blown away by the history, intricately crafted temples, + misty mountains. Eventually Jamie found my way back to Colorado. She worked in the architecture + interior design fields for six years crafting unique + sustainable spaces with a focus on custom artisanal pieces in every project.

Opening J Designs in 2016, Jamie really wanted to explore her own style + process, which combined all of her experiences into a distinctive offering to clients. In 2022 J Designs opened up a second studio on the beach in Los Angeles. Over the years J Designs have done five showhouses with Denver Life Magazine + been featured in AD, House Beauitful, +  Luxe Interiors + Design. With our background in interior design, architecture + custom furniture design, have a multi-disciplinary approach that spans a broad swath of influences + skillsets.
